Metal blades are inserted into the cabinet to split the lady in two. Electric cables are attached to the blades, and a high-voltage electric surge is passed through the blades & lady inside the cabinet.

The highly polished metal blades act as mirrors, reflecting each half of the lady inside the cabinet. That means that one lady is theoretically two ladies at this point. But is this possible in reality?

Another surge of electricity is applied to the metal blades, and suddenly each half cabinet grows into a full cabinet. The lady has been split into twins. This is a long way off from the old 'sawing a woman in half' illusion

LEVITATION IN A LASER TUNNEL

A different take on 'The Phantom of the Opera', where Mark Rose-Christie plays the Phantom, amidst the pulsating beat of Andrew Lloyd Webber's powerful music.

'Christine' is levitated within a laser tunnel which engulfs her and the 'Phantom'. An impossible movie special effect, now being achieved live on a theatrical stage.

VANISHING A GRAND PIANO MID-AIR

Yet another world-first invented by Mark Rose-Christie. Here Mark uses his other talents to sing, and play a grand piano.

Mark, the grand piano and platform, are encased in a massive packing case and hoisted into the air, while he and the orchestral backing play on. The crate is broken open mid-air.

Mark and the grand piano have vanished in mid-air, however Mark appears in the audience a split second later. Here he is seen rushing back to the stage, where the now empty packing crate hovers in the air.

Mark Rose-Christie's vanishing grand piano illusion is one of the most complex and unique illusions ever to be performed anywhere in the world. Illusionists are still guessing how it's done - as it cannot go out backwards - you can also see above, below and to the sides of the illusion at all times. Where does it go ?

After completing two degrees in the social sciences, and working towards his Ph.D. today, Mark returned to his original entertainment talents straight after university.

But, gone were the rabbit-out-of-hat days for Mark even back then, who has ever since given magic & illusion a face-lift by bringing it into the modern idiom. He has also directed such movies as White Death, produced over 53 national television programmes, and has played lead roles such as 'Judas', in musicals such as his South African premiere production of Jesus Christ Superstar - which he also produced & directed. He also produced, directed and starred in several Broadway Revues over the years. These productions to become some of his many 'firsts' for his home country, and finally, the world.

It is from his diverse background that Mark began creating the unique entertainment he presents. Mark also invents his own refreshingly new illusions, and presents multi-dimensional shows that incorporate music, dancing, singing, special effects and a host of other theatrical spectacles - all in one magical escape into the world of illusion.

In 1984 he performed his first solo illusion show, becoming the first illusionits worldwide to levitate an automobile 15 feet in the air, whereupon it vanished whilst its lights were still flashing". It was this pioneering feat that saw his biography being requested by the prestigious London Magic Circle's (the first-ever magic circle in the world) Who's Who of Magic In The World, and his picture being hung in the Hall of Fame at Hollywood's esteemed home to international magicians, The Magic Castle.

Having later lived in the U.S.A. for four years, he produced & directed the new version of the The Nu' 90's Rocky Horror Show; was invited over and above his American peers (including David Copperfield) to perform for President George Bush (Sr.); and was again invited above his American peers to perform at such prestige venues as Magic Island, and Broadway's Sardi's. He returned to South Africa briefly some years ago to stage his home country's first-ever national touring illusion shows, Magic Of The Future - another epic illusion show (like the overseas one's such as Copperfield's et al.), which played to rave reviews and saw Mark become the Magician of the 21'st Century - a title that no illusionist to date can make claim to.

In 2001, Mark Rose-Christie launched another 'first' for South Africa with his well-known Mystery Ghost Bus Tours, which run countrywide.

In recent years he also devised another 'first' for South Africa, known as Mystery Weekends Away - a total escapist experience at country hotels, with a murder dinner, magic & illusion show, ghost tour, and relic hunt. As the great grandson (sic) of Agatha Christie, these get-away weekends are "to die for".
